NoteStackr is a lightweight note-taking extension for keeping quick notes, tasks, links, reminders, study points, and ideas close while browsing.

It focuses on fast everyday writing with boards, search, pinning, colors, formatting, backup, and recovery without requiring a separate note app workflow.

Core capabilities

  • Use popup mode for quick capture or sidebar mode when notes should stay visible beside the current page.
  • Create boards for work, study, personal, shopping, ideas, projects, reading, tasks, or any structure that fits the workflow.
  • Add titles, content, pins, colors, rich formatting, and board labels to notes.
  • Search across notes and copy note content when needed.
  • Move deleted notes to Trash first so they can be restored before permanent removal.
  • Export and import notes and boards as JSON backups.

Practical workflows

  • Capture small reminders, links, tasks, meeting notes, and ideas while browsing.
  • Keep research notes visible beside a page using sidebar mode.
  • Organize notes by boards and recover deleted notes before they are permanently removed.

Install and first use

  1. 1Open notes quickly: Use Popup mode for fast capture or Sidebar mode for ongoing reference.
  2. 2Organize with boards: Create boards, reorder them, move notes, and add visual labels.
  3. 3Find and recover: Search notes, copy content, restore from Trash, or back up your data as JSON.

Privacy and data handling

  • Note data is stored locally in the browser environment
  • Manual backups are user-controlled
  • Notes are not described as collected, transmitted, or shared by the extension
  • No account is required for quick notes

Troubleshooting

  • Confirm the extension is enabled in Chrome and allowed on the current site.
  • Reload the page after changing extension permissions or settings.
  • When contacting support, include the product name, Chrome version, expected behavior, and actual behavior. Do not send secrets.
